Product Design Engineer Liina Hyytiä: Attitude Matters

Meet Liina Hyytiä, Product Design Engineer at Vahterus. Liina has been with Vahterus for nearly two years, starting her journey even before completing her degree in Industrial Management and Engineering, where she graduated in the spring of 2023.

Liina describe that her workdays at Vahterus vary: ‘My day revolves around designing heat exchangers, either according to type approval standards or specific customer requirements. This includes modifying designs, 3D modeling, creating production materials, performing strength calculations, and communicating with various stakeholders,’ she explains.

What keeps her motivated is the variety and challenge. ‘Every day brings new challenges, keeping the work interesting and meaningful. This job also allows me to develop toward more demanding tasks, and that’s something I find incredibly motivating,’ she shares. On top of that, she mentions how supportive and friendly her colleagues are, making each workday even more enjoyable.

Outside of work, Liina is passionate about floorball. She plays for Rauma SalBa in the National First Division for Women. And if she’s not busy with her own games or training, you’ll likely find her watching her boyfriend’s or siblings’ matches. She also appreciates the flexible working hours at Vahterus, which have allowed her to balance her career and her passion for floorball seamlessly.
